Summer Night in Bañga, open window, mosquito buzzing near your ear at 2 AM
You hear it, you lose it, you turn on the light, you search for it, it lands as soon as the light goes out. In the morning, three bites on your arm and half an hour of lost sleep. This mosquito net forms a complete bell around the bed from a single point on the ceiling — no frame to assemble, no poles to fix, just a hook and the net drapes like a bell around the two sleepers.
Why this mosquito net really changes your summer night
- Single suspension point on the ceiling — only one hook to attach above the bed (or to a beam, an existing eye bolt, or a ring). The mosquito net drapes like a bell all around, without having to fix four corners like a traditional canopy. Installation in five minutes the first time, without special tools.
- Ultra-fine, tightly woven tulle — the mesh is tight enough to block even the smallest mosquitoes (like tiger mosquitoes), while allowing air to pass freely. No "closed tent" effect that traps heat in the summer — you keep the coolness of the open window without the accompanying insect buffet.
- Flexible, foldable fiber hoop — the top ring that maintains the circular shape folds into an eight for flat storage. The complete mosquito net fits into a pouch the size of a cushion for travel in a suitcase or off-season storage.
- Full coverage for a double bed — the hoop's diameter and the net's height are sized to completely cover a standard double bed, with enough slack so that the tulle does not touch the skin during the night (mosquitoes can bite through the fabric in direct contact).
- Side lift for entering and exiting — to get into or out of bed at night, you simply lift a panel of the net and pass it behind you. No zipper to manipulate in the dark, no need to completely detach the mosquito net every time you go to the bathroom.
- Decorative canopy effect — beyond its insect-repellent function, the white tulle mosquito net visually transforms the bedroom into a more enveloping and soothing space. Boutique hotel or tropical bungalow effect, without having to buy new furniture.
Designed for regions where mosquitoes are present all year round (tropical and subtropical areas), for summer nights in Europe where open windows attract insects, for new parents who want to protect their bed without installing a mustached mosquito net above the crib, for backpackers staying in basic accommodation, for camping enthusiasts camping in tents without integrated mosquito nets, and for seasonal rentals and guest rooms where guests sensitive to bites are hosted.
How to install it correctly to truly block insects?
For ceiling installation, identify the center point above the headboard or slightly offset towards the center of the mattress depending on your configuration. Use a screw hook suitable for the type of ceiling: for a standard plasterboard ceiling, use a Molly bolt or a butterfly hook; for a wooden ceiling or exposed beams, a direct screw hook is sufficient; for a concrete ceiling, plan for an expansion anchor suitable for a hammer drill. The mosquito net weighs approximately 650g, any proper fastening for a medium-sized picture frame will do. For suspension, hang the main cord on the hook, unfold the hoop, raising the net, and adjust the height so that the edges of the tulle slightly trail on the floor — this trailing is intentional, it prevents insects from entering from below. If you cannot drill into the ceiling (rental, fragile walls), use a strong adhesive hook designed for a minimum of 2 kg, on a clean, flat surface. For sleeping, tuck all the edges of the tulle under the mattress all around the bed after getting in, or let them hang freely if you prefer the decorative aspect (insects will then have a better chance of finding a way through the bottom). Check that no part of the body touches the net during sleep — a mosquito resting on the outside can bite through the fabric if the skin is in direct contact. For maintenance, dust the mosquito net once a month with a damp cloth or by vacuuming with a soft brush attachment. For a deep cleaning two to three times a year, unhook the mosquito net, hand wash in the sink or bathtub with lukewarm water and a little mild detergent, rinse with clear water, and let dry spread out on a clothesline (never machine wash or tumble dry, which would permanently deform the tulle and the hoop). Avoid insecticides sprayed directly on the tulle — they can degrade the fibers and are not necessary for a purely physical mosquito net. For off-season storage or travel, fold the hoop into an eight by crossing the two halves, slide the whole into a soft cover or fabric bag, and store flat in a closet.
For those who want to sleep with an open window, without accepting to be woken up three times a night.
